During the ongoing Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), WHOAFRO deployed Google Earth AI to identify disease transmission blind spots. The organization used Google's Geospatial Reasoning agent prototype to map regions where exposure risk and human mobility are high.

According to Google, the prototype pinpointed 48 exposed settlements and located more than 45,500 at-risk people within minutes, completing an assessment that previously required weeks.
